We plan all of our trip dates well ahead of time, so when mid-January rolled around and we still hadn’t seen any snow we started worrying that we’d have to change the date of our first staff snowshoe trip. Boy, were we wrong! Multiple winter storms dropped a record breaking 100+ inches of snow on the Boston area in a short 3-4 week span.
On Saturday, February 28th, a group of BBCPS staff members trekked off to the Middlesex Fells Reservation for a glorious day of snowshoeing! We couldn’t have asked for better conditions – beautiful blue skies, warm sunshine, no wind, and packed trails!
Our group started off at the Flynn Rink and traveled towards South Reservoir via the Cross Fells Trail. About an hour and a half in, we made it to the reservoir for a group photo and some snacks. After a small break and a map consultation, we headed back via the Dam Road, Brooks Road, and back to the Cross Fells Trail. It was a gorgeous hike!
